LISC Adds Four New Members to Board of Advisors

LISC Chicago today formally added four new members to its Board of Advisors. The new board members are Julie Chavez, Senior VP, Corporate Social Responsibility Market Manager, Bank of America; Donna Gerber, VP For Public Affairs and Community Investments, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois; Lori Manning, Director – Philanthropy for State Farm Insurance; and Jerry Zinkula, Managing Director, Allstate Investments.

Members are appointed to three-year terms, which are renewable. An orientation for the new members was held on March 6 at Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy.

“Our Board of Advisors continues to make significant contributions to the success of LISC Chicago and our mission to provide neighborhoods with the resources they need to become healthier and stronger,” said LISC Executive Director Susana Vasquez. “Their leadership and expertise will be an invaluable asset to LISC Chicago as we implement our three-year business plan and move towards completing our $40 million Campaign for Neighborhoods.”

The Board of Advisors provides guidance and counsel to LISC Chicago. The Board’s purview includes policy development and strategic planning; budget and finance; credit review and supervision; and fundraising. Board members are selected on the basis of their engagement in community development matters in the metro Chicago area.
