CWF/FOC Video Feature - Center for Changing Lives

Published: May 19, 2015

The Logan Square community on Chicago’s Northwest Side is a supporter of working class families – many of whom find themselves without the financial resources necessary to fully rebound from the effects of the Great Recession.

But thanks to the efforts of Center for Changing Lives — a member of the LISC Chicago network of Financial Opportunity Centers (FOCs)/Centers for Working Families (CWFs) — many local residents who were previously unemployed have returned to the job market and made other, equally important strides toward financial stability.

Like all organizations in the LISC FOC/CWF network, Center for Changing Lives offers a comprehensive package of financial tools, all of which are rooted in individualized coaching. Through personalized processes, staffers assist residents in securing employment, assessing their financial situation and developing a plan for long-term financial growth.

“When we watch the arc of somebody’s journey, we see something totally different at the end of the story than we did at the beginning,” said Executive Director Ellen Ray.
