FOC/CWF Video Feature - Jane Addams Resource Corporation

Published: June 16, 2015

Graduates of workforce training programs facilitated by the Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC) are highly sought after among manufacturing operations in Chicago.

But despite their technical skills and impressive marketability, many JARC-trained workers still need assistance when it comes to planning for long-term financial stability. As a result, many turn to the JARC Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) also referred to as Center for Working Families (CWFs).

A member of the LISC Chicago network of FOCs, the organization works to help residents across the region achieve financial self-sufficiency.

Like its peer organizations, the JARC Center employs a three-pronged approach of employment assistance, benefits screening and financial coaching to help clients better understand their financial situation and develop plans for growth.

“They like what they do, and I see that when I sit down with them,” said JARC graduate Lonnie Montgomery. “That’s what made me so comfortable with coming here.”

Learn more about the JARC FOC in this week’s installment of the LISC Chicago FOC/CWF video series. Check back with LISC-Chicago.org every Tuesday between now and July 14 to learn more about another FOC/CWF in the LISC Chicago network.
