LISC Housing - Green Planning Grant and Technical Assistance Program

LISC Green Planning Grant and Technical Assistance Program seeks to support multifamily affordable housing with loans for sustainable development. We support capital improvements, as well as operations and maintenance procedural changes. Sustainable investments have long-term benefits such as cost and energy savings and a healthier living environment for residents.

Eligibility to receive a Green Planning Grant:
- Affordable or mixed-income housing properties approaching recapitalization.

- Affordable or mixed-income housing properties that will undergo rehabilitation are automatically eligible to receive a Green Planning Grant. In addition, LISC will provide predevelopment or acquisition financing to these rehab properties.

Grant Amounts: $10,000 - $15,000
- Grant awards will be awarded in the amount of $10,000 to $15,000, and will be determined by LISC housing based on project specifics and funds available.

Eligible uses of grant proceeds:
- Green Planning Grant eligible costs include architect, engineer, consultant, and developer staff time expenses early on in the design process of sustainable design construction.

Benefits:
- LISC will offer a range of support and technical assistance to the awarded grantee.
- Webinars will be provided to educate grantees on sustainable development topics such as energy efficiency, water conservation, solar etc. 
- Grantees will be provided training for benchmarking using WegoWise.
